We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the lab of Prof Harrison Steel at the Department of Engineering Science in central Oxford. The post is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and is fixed-term for up to twelve months.
The research project will focus on developing new technologies that advance our ability to study and engineer bacteria for applications including biosensing, biomanufacturing, and control of microbial communities. The candidate will have opportunities to apply tools from this rapidly emerging field to tackle challenges in medicine and biomanufacturing, leveraging expertise from our interdisciplinary team and collaborators.
You should hold a PhD/DPhil, or be near completion of a PhD/DPhil (with the possibility to underfill at Grade 6 (£33,832–£39,705 per annum) if a candidate holds a relevant degree and is working on PhD/DPhil in the field of biology or bioengineering. You should also have strong laboratory experience working with Bacteria. You should have an interest in innovative problem solving, and work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
