The Role
The Placement Education Lead - Master of Professional Psychology is responsible for coordinating and administration of placement activities for the students in the Postgraduate Master of Professional Psychology course. This role requires relevant qualifications and industry knowledge to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of partnerships to support the facilitation of student placements in a timely manner.

The successful applicant will be passionate about providing training and mentoring to psychologists in training. You will be able to balance support for your students and commitment to maintaining the high standards required of psychologists in training at Macquarie University. You will have excellent organisational and time management skills, strong written and oral communication skills, the capacity to conduct group supervision sessions and facilitate class activities aligned with placement practices, and familiarity with the relevant professional requirements for the training of psychologists.

The Macquarie University Psychology Clinic (MUPC) is part of the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University. The School of Psychological Sciences is ranked in the top 75 Psychology Departments in the world and is at the forefront of excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement. We offer accredited undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Psychology with the largest suite of postgraduate programs in New South Wales.
The School sits under the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) whose current education suite includes courses in clinical science, physiotherapy, medicine, exercise and sports science, public health, psychology, cognitive sciences, linguistics, audiology, and speech pathology. Essential Criteria
Degree/postgraduate qualifications and professional experience recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia.
Full general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
Approved Supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia (or eligibility for this).
Demonstrated knowledge of Australian Psychology Accreditation Council and Accreditation standards as they relate to Master of Professional Psychology field education programs.
Strong written and oral communication skills including ability to write industry reports.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work effectively within tight deadlines.
Capacity to conduct group supervision and create and facilitate class activities aligned with placement practices.
Experience in the interpretation, development and implementation of policy and procedure.
Familiarity with the relevant professional requirements for the training of psychologists.
Specific role requirements
This position requires criminal record checking, a valid working with children check and qualifications checking.
