DUTIES

NOTE: This position is subject to review by the Joint Job Evaluation Committee

Provides a variety of customer services and performs general office related duties.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides customer care and services including acknowledging and greeting customers, responding to requests, answering inquiries, taking orders, encouraging purchases through recommending products or services to meet customer needs.
  • Performs cashier duties such as selling counter products and prints, receiving payments, maintains daily cash float balance and summarizes daily cash sales.
  • Performs front-end photocopier functions and services.
  • Creates jobs for print in print management system for internal and external customers.
  • Produces reports, quotes and web orders from print management software.
  • Records, maintains and coordinates business records including invoices, monthly fleet machine charges, internal and external charges, and month-end reports and sends to the Finance Department.
  • Assists with monthly PCard reconciliation.
  • Performs general office duties such as filling copiers with paper and staples, changing toner and placing service calls.
  • Orders general office supplies and printer supplies.
  • Performs sorting and filing, including limited hand bindery work when necessary.
  • Performs the production and issuing of the TRU Campus ID Card.
  • Assists with creating merchandise displays, pricing and labeling.
  • Assists in updating user and machine data in fleet management system.
  • REPORTS TO Manager, Ancillary Retail Services

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION:

  • Grade 12 plus one-year post-secondary education in a related discipline
  • EXPERIENCE:

  • One year experience in print services related office environment including proven experience with Microsoft Office, Acrobat, and Print Shop Pro
  • Related retail experience
  • SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITIES RELATED TO THE JOB

  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with staff, students and members of the general public
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to operate related equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines and electronic POS systems
  • Ability to reformat and print projects from multiple page layout and document creation software programs
  • WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Sitting and standing for long periods of time
  • General office conditions
  • Moderate exposure to noise and dust
  • Ability to lift weight in excess of 10 kg
  • The salary for the above position is determined by the Collective Agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 4879, as it presently exists.
