Programme Manager / Programme Officer (at the rank of Executive Officer/ Clerk I) in the Department of Politics and Public Administration (Ref.: 530537) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years' post-qualification work experience in the education or business sector. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English; good communication and interpersonal skills; a good teamwork attitude; good organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and on tight schedules; and IT proficiency. Those with work experience in tertiary institutions would have an advantage.
The appointee will oversee the administration work in relation to the postgraduate degree programmes of the Department. He/ She is expected to report to various Programme Directors/ Chairpersons and work along with course teachers/ student supervisors to monitor and advise students on their study progress; to provide secretariat support including but not limited to admissions, orientations, course enrollment, timetabling, examinations, graduation, programme committees meetings, etc.; to develop and execute curriculum plans and organize various student enrichment activities; to perform any other ad hoc/non-routine duties as assigned; to supervise junior staff to provide professional service. Working outside normal office hours/during weekends may be required occasionally.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Programme Officer (at the rank of Clerk I).
