  • About the Role The Estate Planning Officer (Heritage) is essential to safeguarding the University's historic estate. As an in house heritage officer, they ensure compliance with heritage legislation and provide advice to University stakeholders. This role requires a meticulous approach and a proactive stance in protecting our heritage assets.

    Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the University's compliance with heritage legislations, providing heritage specific advice, and managing statutory approvals for heritage- related projects.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external consultants to integrate heritage considerations into University initiatives and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Maintaining accurate records, supporting the governance framework, and overseeing financial aspects related to heritage projects.
  • Who we are looking for We are seeking a highly organised and knowledgeable professional with a strong background in heritage consulting, advisory or architectural fields. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving and a deep understanding of regulatory heritage environments. They will be adept at managing multiple projects, drafting comprehensive reports, and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

    You will also have:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Knowledge and experience in regulatory heritage environments, with a strong focus on compliance with local, state and national heritage legislation.
  • Ability to provide high-level advice on heritage projects, including managing statutory approvals and liaising with regulatory bodies.

    This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to- date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
