  • About the role

    We are seeking two Project Officers with an understanding and/or experience with HDR administration to join the Research & Research Training Domain.

    As the Project Officer (Graduate Research Scholarships) you will be responsible for providing a broad range of high level support related to Adelaide University (AU) interim scholarship's function, including enquiry management, assessment and administration of scholarship applications, and the establishment of new scholarships to support the creation of the interim Research Operating Model at AU.

    As the Project Officer (Graduate Research Admissions) you will be responsible for providing a broad range of high level support related to Adelaide University (AU) interim admissions function, including enquiry management, assessment and administration of admission applications to support the creation of the interim Research Operating Model at AU.

    As members of the project team, the Project Officers play a critical role in supporting the delivery of project activity, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and quality while providing broad administrative duties.

    Core Responsibilities

    Project Officer (Scholarships)

  • Respond to scholarship enquiries from prospective students, supervisors and professional staff.
  • Undertake relevant graduate research scholarship activities including scholarship assessment, selection, offers and awards.
  • Support the establishment of new graduate research scholarships.
  • Project support such as track and report project tasks, milestones and deliverables.
  • Project Officer (Admissions)

  • Respond to admission enquiries from prospective students, supervisors and professional staff.
  • Assess applications for admission to graduate research programs according to established selection criteria and communicate decisions to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with academic areas to determine admission eligibility, and other associated matters in relation to applications.
  • Initiate compliance checks, offers of admission, issue Conformation of Enrolments (CoE) and send other admission-related communications.
  • Project support such as track and report project tasks, milestones and deliverables.
  • Essential Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related area or extensive equivalent experience gained within a university environment, demonstrating an understanding of the higher education sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and advise on legislation, administrative policies, procedures and guidelines
  • High-level administrative skills including experience providing project officer support to working groups, committees, and experience in developing and maintaining high level paper-based and electronic administrative systems.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use initiative, work to tight deadlines, prioritise and anticipate requirements.
  • Well developed problem-solving skills, including the ability to be innovative in providing advice and in generating solutions.
  • Proven experience in graduate research student administration
