Research Assistant I (several posts) in the Department of Sociology (Ref.: 530569) (to commence in February 2025 for 6 months)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably with a major in psychology, early childhood education, or other related social science and education fields. They need to be highly proficient in spoken and written Chinese (Cantonese is a must) and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Applicants should have a strong sense of responsibility, be detailed-minded, dedicated, patient, and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Experience in working with preschool children and/or exposure to child or psychological assessments would be an advantage.

The appointees will be responsible for conducting child assessments under the supervision of the research team and educational psychologists for a large- scale project on early childhood development in Hong Kong. The posts would provide an excellent opportunity for those interested in educational psychology and assessments, and who would like to gain experience working with children in school-based settings and participate in large-scale child development research project. Applicants considering further academic/professional pursuits in educational psychology or related fields are particularly welcome. Fresh graduates with a strong interest in educational psychology and child development are also encouraged to apply. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.

Enquiries about the posts should be sent to the Project Team at [email protected].

Applicants will be required to participate and pass a mandatory 3-day training program in January before employment.

The University only accepts online application for the above posts. Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V. Review of applications will start on as soon as possible and continue until 5 January, 2025 , or until the posts are filled, whichever is earlier.
