We are looking to appoint a research assistant join the multi-disciplinary team supporting Trials Delivery Framework within Dementias Platform UK ( https: // www. dementiasplatform.uk/ ) with the delivery of the READ-OUT Programme. The READ-OUT Programme is a £4.5m project aimed at establishing the utility of blood biomarkers of dementia in the care of people with cognitive disorders. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 March 2027 with the possibility of extension)

The University has introduced a pensionable Oxford University Weighting of £1,500 a year (pro rata) for all staff on grades 1–10 of the main salary and grading structure which will be implemented in the September 2024 payroll.

You will be instrumental in the development, of the READ-OUT Programme of work, managing trial site communications including liaising with potential research participants, study and trial researchers. You will assist in delivery of the READ-OUT studies, booking and processing and scheduling participant visits, providing assistance to participants at study visits, and carrying home visits.

You will have an undergraduate degree in Psychology (2:1 or higher along with a strong interest in cognitive neuroscience or clinical psychology. With an understanding of clinical trials and research participant interaction you will be able to work with patients and older participants. A research background in dementia, neurodegeneration, or neuroscience would be desirable as would an understanding of the delivery of complex research grant projects.
