Applications are invited for a Research Assistant, to join the team of Professor Gail Hayward within the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) in Community Healthcare. The HRC is a research infrastructure programme that supports the development and evaluation of diagnostics and medical technologies for use in community healthcare settings, frequently in collaboration with industry and other stakeholder groups.

The successful applicant will support the diverse project work of the clinical and cross-cutting themes of the HRC. They will be deployed across an array of HRC projects which might involve working with clinicians, patients and members of the public to identify clinical needs and develop specifications for new technologies, synthesising existing literature and evidence, and working on clinical evaluation projects of diagnostics and medical technologies.

You will hold a degree in a medical sciences relevant subject and have some experience contributing to research projects, with a proven aptitude for the management of your own work. You will have excellent communication skills in order to facilitate work and relationships with the wider HRC team, external project partners, patients and the public. You must be highly numerate, with some experience of statistical methods advantageous.

You will be based in the Gibson Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work, but you may be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

The position is full-time (part time working will be considered for a minimum of 60% FTE) and fixed term for one year in the first instance.
