We are seeking a highly motivated and productive chemist to conduct daily research on exciting recently funded projects of early drug discovery (https: // msutoday.msu.edu/news/2023/grant-to-develop-alzheimers-disease- treatment?sccamp=4A8CD0E5C78747BB8DAD90A5961EE528&utmsource=msutoday- email&utmmedium=em&utmcampaign=standard- promo&id=923ff786dde65738b95a84e4c9956734&utmcontent=image7). Doctorate -Organic/synthetic chemistry

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through completing a PhD program in Chemistry; highly experienced in chemical synthesis; experience in drug or chemical probe design; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in overseeing research projects and laboratory operations, operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory equipment, performing specialized and difficult analytical and research techniques and assays, and designing research experiments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experienced in scientific communications including but not limited to manuscript and proposal preparations.

Ph.D. in Chemistry with at least 3 years of relevant research experience; experience in in vitro or in vivo assay will be considered a strength; sound knowledge of high throughput assays and/or experience in high- performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) would also be considered a strength; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; works independently and leads from the bench; demonstrates creative initiative and successful in securing grants/fellowship; results oriented with effective problem-solving skills; open to suggestions and able to critically evaluate and embrace new or different ideas.
