We invite applications for a Research Fellow position in the general area of Theoretical Quantum Information.

You will be part of a team working on projects in quantum measurements and the characterisation of quantum devices. You will join the research group of A/Prof Alexei Gilchrist (6 PhD Students) and collaborate closely with Prof. Kavan Modi (Monash University). The position is jointly funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence in Engineered Quantum Systems and an ARC Discovery Project on quantum measurement resource theories.

The success of the projects will rely on your creativity and team-working abilities, you will help mentor PhD students on the team, and will guide the project in collaboration with the group leaders.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, applicants must address the selection criteria below, and attach your CV (including a list of two referees), a statement of research interests and achievements.

Essential criteria

  • PhD in quantum information science or a closely related discipline

  • Demonstrated research activities in one or more of the following areas or related fields: quantum information, open quantum systems, quantum measurements, and quantum characterisation.

  • The ability to clearly express your ideas and communicate in a team.

  • The ability to work independently on problems and motivate junior members of the team.

  • Salary Package: Level B from $119,840 to $141,790 per annum, plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.

    Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed term for 2 years.
