Research Fellow – Network Programme Manager, 1 FTE, School of Medicine, 010708

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term position of Research Fellow - Network Programme Manager for the Health Research Board - Clinical Trial Network in Diabetes (DCCT-N-I).

This position is funded by HRB - Clinical Trial Network in Diabetes (DCCT- N-I) and is available immediately for an initial period of 1 year and renewable up to a total of 2.5 years. This position is within the Clinical Research Facility Galway (CRFG) and College of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS) at University of Galway.

The Network has an All – Island remit and will focus on supporting and managing Academic initiated trials as a priority, in addition to industry funded trials relating to investigational medicinal products and medical devices and observational research. In addition, there will be a strong focus on business development and sustainability, communication, knowledge exchange and dissemination, education and training, growth and expansion and PPI involvement. The network has a dynamic team of investigators and educators with links to other networks in Primary Care, Trial methodology research network (TMRN) both funded by HRB.

The overall mission of the Clinical Trial Network in Diabetes is to improve health and well-being for all patients with Diabetes on the island of Ireland through an active portfolio of ambitious multi-centre trials. Through well planned research activities where feasibility and pilot work are completed to support definitive interventions, we plan to become internationally competitive for peer-reviewed funding and deliver trials of highly significant scientific impact. The individual network members have considerable experience with a broad international collaboration base. We now want to coordinate this intellectual capital in the network to facilitate fund leveraging, capacity building and national and international knowledge exchange.

Salary: Research Fellow salary scale €63,958 - €83,494 per annum, (subject to the project's funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.

A panel will be formed at interview for future similar posts within 12 months.
