We have an excellent opportunity for two Research Fellows/Senior Research Fellows, to join the research team at the School of Natural Sciences, Macquarie University to work on a project to develop a method for upcycling steelmaking slag for recovery of valuable components through the separation of iron, calcium and phosphorous rich phases using dissolution in weak acid followed by fractional crystallisation.

Duties will include:
In consultation with the project partners: developing and executing a project plan, communicating, and coordinating with project partners through regular project meetings and contributing to appropriate reports and other documentation when required. Maintaining appropriate project records and acquiring and curating necessary data.
Essential Criteria:
PhD in Engineering, Environmental Science or a relevant subject.
Experience of working collaboratively in a laboratory environment.
Experience of use of physical measurement devices in both laboratory and national facility environments.
Desirable: Experience of working closely with industrial partners on close to market research projects.
The positions will be at the A-C level, depending on experience and will be available for three years.
The successful candidates will report to Prof. Vladimir Strezov, School of Natural Sciences, and Prof Simon Clark, School of Engineering, at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Macquarie University.
Salary package Level A, B or C commensurate with experience from $109,897 to $168,275 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation and annual leave loading.
