  • About the Role

    As Senior Consultant, EDI, you will play a pivotal role in bringing La Trobe's first comprehensive EDI Strategy and Framework to life. Reporting to the Senior Manager, EDI, you will lead the development and execution of a roadmap, implementation plan, and measurement framework, ensuring EDI is embedded across the University in a meaningful and sustainable way.

    This role will manage stakeholder engagement across campuses, portfolios, and functions to inform the strategy implementation approach, ensuring alignment with La Trobe's EDI governance structure, priorities and action plans.

    Additionally, this role will support the delivery of key staff-facing EDI initiatives and action plans and contribute to the review of La Trobe's Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP) 2021–2025, assessing progress, measuring impact, and facilitating staff consultations to inform its next iteration.

    The EDI team works in a hybrid environment, offering a mix of campus and remote/work-from-home options. Flexibility is supported. This fixed term contract is for 12 months.

    To be successful in this role, you will need:

    EDI expertise and strategic implementation— understanding of leading practices, benchmarking standards, with demonstrated experience embedding EDI strategies and action plans within a large, complex organisation.

    Measurement and data analysis— ability to design and implement an effective framework to track progress and impact.

    Stakeholder management and influence— proven ability to navigate diverse and competing interests to drive collaboration.

    Critical thinking and problem-solving— strategic and analytical mindset with a solutions-focused approach.

    Strategic execution— ability to translate strategy into action, ensuring initiatives are sustainable and effective.
