Senior Finance Manager

NDM Finance Team, located at the Old Road Campus Research Building, Roosevelt Drive, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7DQ.

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Senior Finance Manager to support the financial management of the UK and Overseas Units for Tropical Medicine. This is a key position within the administrative management of the Nuffield Department of Medicine.

This is an exciting phase in the development of Tropical Medicine and you will be able to help shape and transform the financial frameworks of these Units going forward to ensure they align with the strategic priorities of the Department and in particular the roles and responsibilities of the financial aspect of the overseas units.

You will have a reporting line to the Deputy Head of Finance and work closely with the Units Business Manager and the Chief Finance Officers (CFOs) in each of the three largest overseas units taking responsibility for the end-to- end management accounting process from budget setting, monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts and year end. The overseas units have established finance teams who will provide financial information to feed into the consolidated position at the Departmental level.

To succeed in this role, you will hold CCAB or CIMA professional accountancy qualification and have significant experience in budget management and forecasting with advanced skills in the use of Excel spreadsheets, such as the ability to create and manipulate pivot tables and set up analysis based on lookup functionality. This position requires a high level of leadership, management, organisational and interpersonal skills to ensure workloads are managed and prioritised so that deadlines are met, including the provision of expert opinion and advice, contributing to university wide goals, sharing best practice and keep abreast of changing environment and policy.

Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience.

This position is offered full time on a permanent basis.

Only applications received before 12 midday on Wednesday 23 October 2024 will be considered. Interviews are expected to be held on Thursday 31 October 2024.
