Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine, College of Medicine & Health

Permanent whole-time post

UCC wishes to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Paramedicine, within the School of Medicine. This post will be pivotal in the development of Paramedical Science within the University and the delivery of the core academic and clinical syllabi, in partnership with the National Ambulance Service College.

Applicants should have an established track record in clinical paramedical practice and be able to demonstrate a broad-based experience in terms of teaching and research at a third-level academic institution.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and creative individual with vision to contribute to the further development of paramedic practice in Ireland. This is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably qualified person to play a key role in overseeing the delivery of a Paramedicine degree, Masters and PhD programs and to support research in this area. The appointee will co-ordinate the development, delivery and quality assurance of the teaching and research programmes in Paramedicine at UCC.

The appointee will initially take responsibility for delivery of a Level 8 BSc in Paramedicine, as well as coordinating the development of a MSc (Level 9) and other programmes in Paramedical Studies. There is also an expectation that the successful candidate will explore the creation of professional continuing professional development (CPD) courses in pre-hospital care, in conjunction with the wider emergency medicine team in Cork and beyond. The College of Medicine and Health is committed to Inter Professional learning; the successful candidate will be expected to develop a close working relationship within the College of Medicine and Health as well as the associated hospitals, integrated health providers, Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council and senior management of the National Ambulance Service College.

Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.

For an information package including full details of the post, selection criteria and application process see https: // ore.ucc.ie/. The University, at its discretion, may undertake to make an additional appointment(s) from this competition following the conclusion of the process.
