Senior Manager / Senior IT Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant I) (2 posts) in the Academic Advising and Scholarships Office of the Registry ( Ref.: 528928)
The Academic Advising and Scholarships Office invites applications for the following two posts:
(A) Senior Manager
The Role
The appointee will lead the academic advising team of the Office to support the University-wide academic advising system and deliver central academic advising services to students. He/she will lead the team in developing advising resources and tools, organising events, activities and training, producing publications, developing and maintaining academic advising related IT system, and providing direct advising consultation to students. The appointee is also required to collaborate with different teams and offices to devise and implement strategic plans on central academic advising and facilitate the Office's communication with different stakeholders, serve as secretary of committee(s), and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree and at least 12 years' work experience in the education or related sector, of which at least 10 years should be in academic advising, student enrichment or study support with 5 years at supervisory or management level in tertiary institution. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese and a high level of leadership, organisational and communication skills.
(B) Senior IT Manager
The Role
The appointee will provide a full spectrum of IT support to the Office. He/she will steer the IT development of the Office in supporting University academic advising initiatives. He/she will enhance and maintain academic advising related IT system, develop new advising resources, and lead other supporting staff in developing and maintaining website, social media and database of the Office.
Qualifications and Qualities
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, with at least 12 years' relevant work experience in tertiary institutions. They should have in-depth knowledge and experience of system development, network and server maintenance as well as database and website development.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on full-time fixed-term contract for three years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
