Senior Occupational Health Adviser

Are you looking for a rewarding and fulfilling role in a supportive and inclusive working environment?

The University of Cambridge is inviting applications for the position of Senior Occupational Health Adviser to join our busy, friendly team at the Occupational Health Service.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the adult branch, who holds a post registration qualification in Occupational Health at Certificate, Diploma or Degree level.

The successful applicant will enable efficient and effective service delivery through undertaking clinical activities, such as managing health screening and surveillance programmes, and providing health advice to service users; management of junior clinical staff; and contributing to the review, development and implementation of the Service's strategies for prevention of ill health and promotion of wellbeing of service users.

You should have excellent organisational and communication skills, including being proficient in use of Microsoft office programmes and databases. You will be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You should also have a comprehensive working knowledge of Occupational Health Law and Health, Safety and Employment Law; experience of management of caseloads, health surveillance and health screening programmes; and be able to work in a culturally sensitive way, using your own initiative while knowing when to consult with senior colleagues.

The role is full time (37 hours per week), working over five days Monday - Friday. Due to the nature of this role, the post holder is required to work on-site for their full contracted hours.

Application closing date: 14 January 2025. Interviews will take place in the week commencing 27 January 2025.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with adults' barred list) and a health assessment. This appointment also requires NMC Registration.
