Base salary will be in the range $89,861.38 - $96,402.32 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6)

As the Student Advisor focusing on Transitions and Employability, you will manage and deliver a portfolio of co- and extra-curricular experience and employability activities for students in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL).
Your focus will be on engaging first-year BEL students as they commence their UQ journey, aiding in their transition into university life and assisting them in exploring career pathways in preparation for graduate employment.
Embedded in the BEL Careers Team, you will work across faculty teams and align with the university's central Student Enrichment and Success (SES) division. You will have responsibility for planning and delivering high-quality career development learning activities such as workshops, consultations, events and special projects. You will also work closely with the BEL Student Experience Team and the BEL Education Team to increase student adjustment, belonging, and retention.
As part of this role, you will also take responsibility for the development and facilitation of student-facing communication relevant to the student experience and student events, via printed material, email, and social media channels.
Key responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the planning and delivery of BEL events and activities that support students' transition to UQ, helping them adjust to university life, make connections, support their wellbeing, and develop future employability capabilities.
Develop and facilitate student-facing communication channels (print, email, social media, etc.) relevant to the student experience and student events.
Engage first-year BEL students in their exploration of career pathways in collaboration with the Faculty's Student Experience Supervisor to increase student success, belonging and retention.
Develop and deliver a portfolio of generalist and cohort-specific career services and employability learning initiatives, including (in-person and virtual) workshops and events, online resources, mock recruitment activities, industry networking opportunities and consultations.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, student clubs/societies, academic and professional staff, and external stakeholders to achieve successful student transition, participation, and career outcomes.
Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, processes and data management of all student and client activities to provide robust management reporting.

Qualifications and training equivalent to an undergraduate degree in a relevant field where your knowledge can be applied to inform the student experience and student transitions.
A track record of success in supporting student experience and student transitions, including career and employability development, student belonging and wellbeing, or other student engagement initiatives.
Ability to design and deliver engaging learning experiences face-to-face and online, and sound knowledge of university degree structures, employment trends, recruitment strategies and their implications for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; some experience in formal organisational communications and/or social media content creation is desirable but not required.
Ability to work autonomously and flexibly within a team environment is essential. You will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, coordinate structured projects and activities, plan and deliver events, and develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry.
An ability to establish effective workflows and contribute to ongoing service improvements, while meeting team and individual goals will be highly regarded.
