  • About You

    As Student Advisor and member of the Student Advice Team at the STEM College, you will provide timely, consistent, and accurate information and advice through various channels to customers. You will efficiently deal with complex enquiries relating to College programs across all modes and locations, actively contribute to further development of University systems and processes and work collaboratively with other members of the Student Advice, STEM Student Lifecycle and wider Student Lifecycle Services teams and key stakeholders to ensure effective academic administration.

    You may be required to work extended and/or flexible hours during high-volume peak periods.

    To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing high-quality customer service, including sound knowledge and consistent application of relevant policy and procedures

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders from a range of cultural backgrounds

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external to the University

  • Well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to take initiative in identifying continuous improvement opportunities

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines in a busy environment, shifting seamlessly between different service channels and locations

  • Demonstrated experience in adapting to new technologies and systems

  • Proven ability to work as an effective team member to achieve individual and team goals and priorities

  • Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

    The STEM College Office professional staff are instrumental in providing students with a transformative and enriched learning experience, and in supporting our research and engagement administration activities.
