  • Position Summary:

    The Learner Experience Advocacy Program (LEAP) is looking to hire 1-2 student employees who will offer faculty consultation and feedback beyond what is possible in the existing LEAP program. Pedagogical Partnership Assistants will support LEAP initiatives for targeted partnerships and collaboration across campus. The student would also contribute to program design revisions and facilitation of LEAP, with a focus on supporting the sustainability and effectiveness of our pedagogical partnership initiatives. Preference will go to applicants who have completed a semester of LEAP as a Student Advocate. Work will be semi-independent and remote work options may be considered upon special request.

    Duties:

    100Consult with faculty on course and assignment design and delivery. Help coordinate the Learning Experience Advocacy Program (LEAP), including planning and facilitating student training sessions. Attend and participate in faculty development workshops and programming as a student representative. Collaborate with committees and work groups across campus dedicated to improving the online student experience. Support program development of student-faculty pedagogical partnerships. Collaborate with LEAP facilitators to create faculty and student-facing resources on teaching and learning practices. Synthesize student experience with emerging scholarship in teaching and learning.Essential

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Skilled at written communication. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Values organization, attention to detail and process.

    Preferred Experience & Education:

    Previous experience as a Student Advocate in LEAP. Experience as an online student.

    Required Experience & Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent. Applicants must be enrolled as UAF students taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or a newly enrolled student.

    Salary Information:

    This is a part-time, Student Assistant position; pay is $15.26 per hour, step 16, based on education and experience.
