The Institute of Clinical Sciences is now seeking a teaching assistant (amanuensis). The employmnet is placed at the department of surgery. The department of surgery is multifaceted and often translational, covering all areas of surgery, such as gastrointestinal, cancer, endocrine, vascular, and liver diseases, as well as kidney and liver transplantation. The teaching assistant will be part of a research group focusing on chemotherapy research using model organisms such as C. elegans and mice, as well as patient data.
DutiesThe tasks consist of research within an ongoing research project in the subject of cisplatin chemotherapy response. The practical tasks will be laboratory work, analysis of data with the use of Caenorhabditis elegans as a model system. The techniques and methods that will be used are Molecular Biology, Protein chemistry, drug evaluation and genetic analysis.
QualificationsTo be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate-level education. For this position, a bachelor's degree in Cell and Molecular Biology is required, along with practical experience in molecular and genetic techniques, protein analysis methods, statistical software (such as Prism and R Studio), and the management of lab notebooks. The ability to present data effectively in group meetings is also essential. We place a strong emphasis on personal suitability for this role.
EmploymentThe employment is limited (temporary) for 8 months, 20 % of full-time and is placed at the Institute of Clinical Sciences, the department of surgery. Starting date; On agreement.
