    You are a motivated people leader who is adept at managing IT projects in complex information environments. Your strong organisational skills and technical IT knowledge allow you effectively manage project timelines, schedules, and competing priorities. With your excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you can engage stakeholders throughout all project stages, while also leading and guiding junior IT professionals to deliver project outcomes and develop professionally.

    About the Role

    As the Team Leader: Learning and Teaching Systems (LTS), you will provide technical leadership and day-to-day supervision of a team of information technologists that develop and support learning and teaching systems, applications, and services to support the student lifecycle. Your technical expertise will be crucial in solving complex IT issues and guiding staff to implement new technical enhancements. You will also spearhead large IT projects, manage smaller ones, and be involved in all stages of system development lifecycle.

    About Information Strategy and Technology Services (ISTS)

    ISTS is responsible for the strategic and operational provision of UniSA's considerable IT infrastructure and services with approximately 150 staff working in 8 key areas. The University's Learning and Teaching Systems team ensures the effective and efficient delivery of specific information technology solutions using a variety of technologies including: .NET, PHP, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle. Team Leaders work closely with other ISTS teams and University business unit staff to provide technical advice and assistance related to the architecture and design of learning and teaching systems to ensure business needs are met.

    Essential Skills and Experience

  • Significant experience leading teams of developers and system administrators, with a strong understanding of management principles
  • Extensive experience in technical leadership and design skills contributing to large and complex IT projects
  • Substantial experience in the architecture, design, development and support of modern web applications and services, particularly .NET
  • Extensive experience in project management methodologies and quality procedures
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills
