The Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute (GBAICTI) is a
wholly-owned entity of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region, positioning as a centralized clinical research facilitation platform
with the mission and vision of creating and sustaining a thriving clinical
research ecosystem and energizing the development of a healthy and wealthy
society through biomedical innovation, research, translation and development
in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The University of Hong Kong Li
Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) is appointed as the operator of
GBAICTI. We are seeking a high calibre talent to join the operation team as
Manager (Research Strategy Development & Application).
Main Responsibilities:
Report to the Vice President (Research Strategy Development &
Application) and support the management and operation of the Office of
Research Strategy Development & Application (OSDA);
Support the formulation and implementation of strategies on the
development and utilization of infrastructure and facilities relating to
clinical research (e.g. biobanks, central laboratories and phase 1
centres) in collaboration with stakeholders such as the Hong-Kong-
Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP), Hong Kong Science and
Technology Parks (HKSTP), Hong Kong Genome Institute (HKGI) and the
clinical trials centres;
Support the evaluation of the application of novel research methods (e.g.
the application of real-world data and real-world evidence) on clinical
research/development and regulatory decision-making on healthcare policies
and marketing approval of medical products;
Support the formulation, establishment and management of funding schemes
for energizing clinical research projects and infrastructure development;
Provide consultation on clinical research and development to
investigators, research institutions and the biomedical industry;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Holder of a bachelor's degree in medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, life
sciences or related subjects;
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the clinical research profession;
Good knowledge and experience in clinical research operations and
processes, regulatory requirements and industrial standards;
Experience in managing/coordinating clinical trials, preferably also in
handling marketing registration applications, real-world data research,
research infrastructure development and research grants management;
Proficiency in common office applications (e.g. MS Office including Word,
Excel and PowerPoint); Hands-on experience in project management and
database applications (e.g. MS Project, Access and Visio) is an added
advantage;
Commitment to quality, integrity, confidentiality and compliance;
Good organizational, project management and problem-solving skills;
Good interpersonal and communication skills;
Detail-minded, able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and self-
motivated;
A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; Proficiency in
Putonghua is an added advantage.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The
appointment will commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis
with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement
benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of
renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
