About the post:
The objective of the post is to provide professional travel advice, efficient service delivery and excellent customer service to RCSI Travel's internal and external clients. This post will be responsible for handling corporate travel reservations and all aspects of the clients travel itineraries in addition to managing relationships with key suppliers. RCSI Travel is a challenging and diverse environment requiring good business travel experience, a strong focus on customer service along with GDS skills
Job Responsibilities
Specifically, the duties of the post are:
§ Use Amadeus the automated reservations and ticketing systems to secure and confirm airline, hotel, car rental and associated reservations for clients, producing airline tickets, vouchers in line with the RCSI Travel's cost containment and business allocation policies
§ Maintain necessary controls to provide audit trails and accountability reports as required by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and commercial airlines/ancillary services providers
§ Provide an unparalleled level of customer service to internal and external clients, along with ability to work on the retail and leisure side of the business
§ Assist the Head of Department with the implementation of new processes and procedures to ensure efficient work practices, including continually improving and maintaining in-house data systems
§ Manage client profiles to completion
§ Negotiate the best possible hotel rates nationwide
§ Provide out of hours support as required (specifically participating in emergency 24hr customer service roster)
§ Comply with statutory legislation and RCSI / Department rules and requirements in furtherance of your own and general staff welfare and safety
§ Undergo programmes of training and development as may be required from time to time.
§ Represent the best interests of the Department and the College at all times
§ Perform such other duties as may be required
Knowledge & Experience – ( Essential):
§ GDS knowledge , Amadeus being preferable
Desirable Skills
§ Communication Skills: ability to communicate complex ideas
§ Self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team: Ability to operate effectively as part of a team – is cordial, tolerant and willing to help others, is co-operative and patient; shares work and information; establishes rapport, can influence and develop effective networks
§ I.T. skills: Knowledge of MS Office suite.
§ Conscientious: Have a pro-active approach to work, anticipating and resolving problems in advance; have keen attention to detail - from anticipating and addressing issues in advance to understanding requests and delivering quality work with minimal errors.
§ Flexibility: Can operate flexibly within a busy environment; can shift focus when required.
§ Customer Focus: Have strong customer service skills. Be able to communicate with a high level of initiative, tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.
§ Motivated: Display a ‘can-do' attitude, be committed to RCSI ORI and its development; demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the role.
