Located on Algonquin territory between the Rideau Canal and the Rideau River nearby downtown Ottawa, the Carleton University campus is stretched across 62 hectares.

The campus houses more than 35 buildings that are linked to one another by 5 km of underground tunnels. All the buildings have a top-notch infrastructure and offer first-rate facilities. The MacOdrum Library has a collection of over two million books, tapes, periodicals, microfilms, CDs, maps, government documents, and archival materials.

Apart from a number of academic buildings dedicated to various disciplines of education and student activities, the campus has four buildings for athletics and sports: Fieldhouse, Ice House, Physical Recreation Centre, and University Gymnasium. Also, the campus is home to numerous cafeterias and restaurants to meet the students' dining needs.

Carleton University offers an array of graduate and undergraduate programs in various fields of education like arts, languages, history, psychology, philosophy, engineering, design, law, economics, journalism, sciences, business, etc. The university is home to over 30,000 part-time and full-time students and a team of more than 900 qualified and distinguished faculty members. It has several international collaborations across more than 30 countries to facilitate research and academic exchange programs. It also has established industry partnerships that help provide students with practical training and employment opportunities. The university's career services organize various events like career fairs, networking nights and workshops to guide and support students on their chosen career path.

Ryan North is a computer programmer and writer. He is best known for being the creator of 'Dinosaur Comics' and as the writer of 'The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl'. Robert MacNeil is a novelist and a former TV news anchor known for writing 'Wordstruck' and 'Burden of Desire'. Michelle Douglas is a well-known human rights activist. John Manley formerly served as Canada's deputy prime minister. Rosemary Barton is a popular journalist known for being the co-anchor in 'The National', CBC News nightly broadcast.
