This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CBT Therapist or Clinical Psychologist to take the next step in their career and help shape the future of child mental health services.

As Clinical Lead for the AnDY Research Clinic in Reading, you will combine clinical expertise, leadership, and service development to ensure children and young people with anxiety, OCD, and depression receive timely, evidence-based care whilst supporting pioneering research that has the potential to improve treatment nationally and internationally. Much of our research is carried out in partnership with our sister AnDY Research Clinic in Oxford, which is part of the new Oxford Centre for Emerging Minds Research (OCEMR) at the University of Oxford.

You will oversee and develop a team of clinicians, trainees, assistant psychologists, and administrative staff, creating a culture of high standards, learning, and innovation. You will oversee clinical decision-making, supervision, quality assurance, and service performance, whilst working closely with researchers and senior colleagues to translate cutting-edge research into real-world clinical practice.

This role offers the chance to develop leadership skills without leaving clinical work behind. You will continue to use your specialist CAMHS expertise whilst gaining experience in workforce development, operational management, strategy, and service transformation.

You will:

• Hold a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in CBT or a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
• Have substantial experience delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with anxiety disorders and depression.
• Enjoy training, supervising, and developing clinicians to deliver high-quality treatment.
• Be excited by the opportunity to combine clinical leadership with research and service innovation.

Based within the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading, you will join a service with a strong track record of exceptional clinical outcomes, innovation, close links between research and practice, and a clear mission to improve outcomes for children and families.

To meet the University’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, safeguarding checks will be carried out, and appointment will be contingent on obtaining DBS clearance (enhanced with children’s barred list).
