Curtin University is seeking a Scholarships Advisor to join our Scholarships team within Student Services. This is a continuing, full-time position supporting the administration of scholarships and sponsorship programs across the University.
About the Role:
As a Scholarships Advisor, you will provide high-quality advice and support to students, Curtin staff and external sponsors across a broad range of scholarship and sponsorship matters.
You will manage a portfolio of coursework scholarships and sponsorships from establishment and promotion through to selection, payment, continuation, completion and reporting. The role requires a strong understanding of relevant policies, processes and systems, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide accurate and timely customer service.

You will manage a portfolio of coursework scholarships and sponsorships from establishment and promotion through to selection, payment, continuation, completion and reporting. The role requires a strong understanding of relevant policies, processes and systems, together with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide accurate and timely customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, consistent and timely advice relating to scholarships and sponsor fees.
- Coordinate and manage scholarship application assessment and selection processes, including arranging and participating in selection panels and liaison with donors.
- Establish and maintain scholarships within relevant University systems and ensure scholarship information is promoted accurately.
- Arrange scholarship payments and assist with financial transactions, reconciliation and account management.
- Monitor students' academic progress and administer requests relating to deferrals, leave of absence, course changes, study load and scholarship completion or termination.
- Manage and reconcile accurate and confidential student and sponsor records.
- Build effective working relationships with students, academic and professional staff, sponsors and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and attend scholarship-related recruitment and promotional activities and contribute to reporting, projects and process improvements.
- Validate and analyse data for reporting
We are looking for someone with:
- A relevant degree; or a diploma with considerable relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage challenging situations professionally.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Excel and database systems, together with the ability to accurately process high volumes of information.
