No Job Type Full-Time Working Hours Position Summary Roosevelt University seeks an Academic Advisor to meet with continuing, new and prospective students in the Department of Biological, Physical and Health Sciences. This position will provide accurate, current curricular information on undergraduate programs in the department of BPHS; assist in short-term and long-term academic program planning; refer students to other support services / units on campus; provide assistance with program changes (class drops and adds and major changes), and career plans; assist in recruitment and retention efforts which progresses our students toward graduation.
This is a full-time, exempt position located on the Chicago campus. This position reports to the Director of Academic Advising. Some evening and weekend hours are required.

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$52,000.

Equipment Operated Office equipment (desktop computer, office copier/ multifunction device and phone). Working Conditions Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required. Essential Job Functions
Duty and Responsibility Provide accurate, current curricular information to students and prospective students on undergraduate programs in individual and group settings; assist in short-term and long-term academic program planning; provide information to faculty, staff, parents and others through workshops, orientations, and information sessions. Provide academic advising to specialized populations of students as deemed necessary.Percentage Of Time 60 Duty and Responsibility Serve as liaison, establish and develop effective relationships, create goals and plans for assessing goals with students, faculty, departmental heads, deans, and others, both on-and off-campus. Maintain key initiatives related to university systems. This technology includes and is not limited to EAB Navigate, Student Education Planning, Degree Audit and Ed Sights.
Percentage Of Time 20 Duty and Responsibility Complete additional administrative duties, including preparation of reports on advisees and development of advising training materials, and supports faculty and staff in responding to student questions or issues. Exemplify the qualities of the service initiative C.A.R.E. by exhibiting the qualities of consistent, accessible, respectful and efficient service to all internal and external constituents.
Percentage Of Time 15 Duty and Responsibility The Academic Advisor may be assigned additional related tasks in support of the department/University's mission and goals.
