Academic Quality Enhancement Officer

Job description

Shape and strengthen academic quality at Leeds Beckett University

We are seeking a collaborative and confident Academic Quality Enhancement Officer to join our Academic Quality Enhancement Office. This is an opportunity to help maintain academic standards, support effective quality assurance and contribute to continuous enhancement across the University and its partners.

The role

Working closely with Schools, professional services and partners, you will provide clear advice, guidance, monitoring and oversight across a broad range of academic quality activities. You will help colleagues apply the University’s academic regulatory and quality assurance frameworks consistently and effectively.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• supporting the validation and review cycle, academic assurance, external examining, audit and other quality-related activity;
• providing authoritative advice and guidance on academic regulations, policies, procedures and the maintenance of academic standards;
• contributing to the review and enhancement of academic quality policies, processes and guidance, informed by sector developments and external expectations;
• co-ordinating quality-related management information, reports and committee activity within required timescales;
• supporting collaborative provision and partnerships, including due diligence, approval, monitoring, review and annual reporting; and
• sharing good practice, supporting staff development and, where required, overseeing the work of administrative colleagues.

About you

You will bring experience of working with policies, regulations or quality processes in a complex organisation, together with the judgement and confidence to provide accurate and practical advice. You will be able to build constructive relationships with a wide range of colleagues and partners, manage competing priorities and communicate complex information clearly in writing and in person.

To arrange an informal discussion about this post, please contact Dominic Ramsden at [email protected].

Closing date: Friday 20th November 2026 (23:59)

Interview date: Thursday 10th December 2026 (this may be subject to change)

Working here means you’ll also have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, flexible working, reduced study fees, subsidised fitness facilities and a lot more.

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. All appointments will be based on merit.

Leeds Beckett University is a Disability Confident Employer. Disabled candidates who demonstrate all essential criteria within the Person Specification will be invited to an interview.
