About the role

Sheffield Hallam University

Academic Tutor in Data Science and Analytics
College of Business, Tech. & Engineering
Academic
Grade 6, £32,722 to £39,560 depending on experience
Computing, data science and data analytics are disciplines that drive innovation, optimize decision-making, and enable smarter solutions across sectors. We are seeking an outstanding multidisciplinary academic tutor with ability to leverage and teach data science and analytics, and their importance in driving scalable analytical solutions on our UG/PG programmes.   We’re really proud of our work environment, undergraduates, postgraduates, and research students work together alongside academic and support staff. The way we teach here is non-traditional, you won’t be handed a menu of content to serve up to the students. Instead, we follow an applied, project-based approach to learning.   You’ll spend most of your classroom time helping students work on their own projects, which are run in the same way as in the IT industry. You and your students will always be connected to what’s going on in the real world.   Join our team and you’ll gain access to extraordinary facilities and equipment, such as:
  • The world’s largest PlayStation development lab.
  • Cyber security labs with the latest forensic equipment.
  • Largest user of Microsoft Azure Lab services in the UK, bringing with it access to a wealth of cloud-based teaching resources.
You’ll also have some unique colleagues, in the shape of our humanoid robots Nao and Pepper and our pet robot dog MiRo.
