Description

The Assistant/Associate Director of Admission plays a leadership role in developing and implementing programs and activities designed to enroll new undergraduate students at Illinois College (IC). As a member of the Enrollment team, the assistant/associate director participates in a full range of recruitment and admission efforts including recruitment travel, group presentations, individual meetings, financial aid counseling, application review. Additionally, this position will take the lead on various admission strategy initiatives aligned to the strengths and interests of the successful candidate. 

Essential Functions:

  • Counsel prospective students and their families as they seek to learn about the value of an Illinois College education.
  • Act as Territory Manager for an assigned region within the US to realize an assigned recruitment goal.
  • Meet weekly goals for counselor-initiated completed contacts. Respond to in-person, phone, and electronic admissions inquiries in a timely manner and at times that are appropriate for different time zones.
  • Review applications for admission and scholarships.
  • Assist with on- and off-campus recruiting events and conduct information sessions.
  • Conduct follow-up with prospective students at times that are convenient for different domestic time zones
  • Provide enlightened hospitality to create lasting connections with prospective students, families and school counseling staff.
  • Take the lead on one or more projects supporting enrollment success, such as communication strategy, data analysis, social media, etc. 
  • Engage in College-wide initiatives to support student success, achieve strategic growth and build sustainable foundations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships, engage in creative problem-solving and extend enlightened hospitality when working with others
  • Intermediate knowledge of Slate CRM, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Google suite of office products.
  • Two to five years of experience in admission and/or financial aid with progressive responsibility and measurable success. Experience level will determine final position title
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 
  • Intercultural competency; ability to work well with individuals of diverse background
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds, reach above shoulders, bend at the waist, stand for extended periods of time.
