Position Summary Information

Position Summary	SRU invites applications for one full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in the construction management program starting in the fall 2027 semester. This position will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in construction management with the possibility of fundamental engineering courses. Candidates should have proficiency in construction software packages such as Blue Beam, Microsoft Office, CAD, and/or project management software. Additionally, they will be expected to establish a productive scholarship program that involves undergraduates, participate in student advising and preparing students for a successful career, and participate in department/university service, including attaining accreditation. Qualified candidates have a Ph.D. in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline with a concentration in construction management. Exceptional candidates will have a background mechanical or electrical systems, demonstrate effective use of evidence-based pedagogy, and showcase a research plan accessible to undergraduate students. As a public comprehensive university and one of ten institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. SRU is a vibrant, student-centered community of learners and scholars. The University is selective in admissions and enrolls approximately 7,000 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate students.
Minimum Qualifications	PhD in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field with a concentration in construction management. Candidates who will attain their PhD prior to the start of the fall 2027 semester will be considered. BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations. Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including teaching demonstration is required.
Preferred Qualifications	Prior Teaching experience or training in construction management Prior teaching experience or training in fundamental engineering courses and/or upper division construction management courses Background in civil, mechanical and/or electrical systems in construction Work/ Research experience in construction management and relevant fields  Experience with Blue Beam, Microsoft Office, CAD, and/or project management software. Effective use of evidence-based teaching practices Prior relevant industrial experience Evidence of research plan that is accessible to undergraduate students Professional licensure or progress towards licensure Experience in advising or mentoring students Demonstrated involvement in workplace
