Curtin University is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Handyperson to join our Facilities Management team in Kalgoorlie. This position is formally classified as Facilities Maintenance Officer (G05).
About the Role With Curtin's residential property portfolio in Kalgoorlie continuing to grow, this newly established position will provide dedicated onsite maintenance support across the campus, student accommodation and residential housing portfolio. Reporting to the Facility Manager, Kalgoorlie, you will provide practical, multi-skilled maintenance support across University buildings, furniture, fixtures and external areas. You will undertake planned, reactive and emergency minor works within your skills, training and authorisation, while identifying and escalating work requiring a licensed trade or specialist contractor. We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexibility around working hours, providing the opportunity to agree a working pattern that suits both your needs and operational requirements.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in the on-call roster, with the potential for additional overtime. There is no expectation that you step straight into on-call duties - you will first be given the opportunity to learn the campus, systems and processes and become comfortable and confident in the role before joining the roster.
