IT Technician in the School of Computing and Data Science (Ref.: 531226)

The School of Computing and Data Science is looking for a high caliber candidate to support the taught master's programmes. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply.

The Role

The appointee will be responsible for managing computing and audiovisual facilities in the office and classrooms; providing efficient and professional IT, multimedia, and e-learning support for staff and students; performing system and network administration tasks; as well as designing, developing, and maintaining websites and apps.

The appointee will also be required to perform other non-IT related duties as assigned, such as event logistics and facilities management. He/She may need to work until 7:30 pm on weekdays and weekends to accommodate the teaching schedule of the programmes.

Qualifications and Qualities

  • A Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with other qualifications are also encouraged to apply;
  • Good interpersonal skills and a strong sense of responsibility, with the ability to work independently under pressure;
  • A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • A positive mindset along with good communication, analytical and problem- solving skills;
  • Be self-motivated, well-organised, attentive to details, and multi-task oriented;
  • Proficiency in computer operations and office software applications; experience in system administration, installation and maintenance on various operating system platforms; and basic knowledge of audiovisual equipment and multimedia applications.

    • What We Offer

    The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of the basic salary.
