Your Responsibilities

• Independent research in the field of single-particle analysis
• Development and application of optical methods for the characterization of individual particles
• Development and optimization of analytical hyphenation techniques
• Combination of optical characterization with elemental analysis, particularly ICP-MS
• Development and further refinement of experimental setups
• Analysis and interpretation of complex single-particle data
• Contribution to scientific publications and research proposals
• Collaboration within interdisciplinary teams and supervision of students

Your Profile

• PhD in chemistry, analytical chemistry, physics, biophysics, or a related field
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in single-particle analysis
• Experience with optical methods for particle characterization or a strong motivation to develop expertise in these methods
• Knowledge of laser safety and experience working safely with laser-based systems
• Initial knowledge of ICP-MS and analytical hyphenation techniques or a strong willingness to develop expertise in these areas
• Programming skills, particularly for data processing, automation, or experimental control, are desirable
• Experience with optical trapping or a strong motivation to develop expertise in this technique is considered an advantage
• Knowledge of Raman spectroscopy or an interest in developing expertise in Raman-based methods is also considered an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently, strong teamwork skills, and enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research
