| Job Description Summary: | The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing seeks three motivated undergraduate or graduate research assistants to join a research team studying nursing home experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on staffing, organizational responses, and the use of supplemental funding. These positions are part of a federally funded research project and offer the opportunity to work closely with faculty and research staff on a national survey of nursing homes. The research assistants will contribute to multiple aspects of the project, including verifying and updating nursing home contact information, participant outreach and recruitment, conducting follow-up calls and emails, supporting survey administration, and monitoring survey responses for quality and completeness. Students will also assist with maintaining recruitment tracking databases, organizing research materials, and coordinating day-to-day survey activities. These positions offer hands-on experience in health services research, survey methodology, participant recruitment, data management, and research coordination. Students will gain practical experience working on a federally funded research study while developing communication, organizational, and research skills. These positions are ideal for undergraduate or graduate students interested in nursing, public health, healthcare administration, psychology, sociology, health sciences, or related fields who are looking to gain research experience. Requirements: • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at Villanova University. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort communicating with healthcare professionals by telephone and email. • Availability during regular business hours to conduct participant outreach and follow-up calls. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle research information confidentially. • Interest in healthcare research, survey research, or nursing home care. • Prior research experience is preferred but not required. • Experience with Qualtrics and data management platforms is a plus. Training and guidance will be provided by the research team. |
