Duties of the Role

As a Stores Porter, you will be responsible for the cleaning and preparation of various areas within the catering department. Duties include washing crockery, cutlery, and cooking equipment, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness across both front and back-of-house areas. You will also receive, check, and store food, consumables, chemicals, and other items, ensuring correct storage, rotation, and stock levels. The role involves transporting food and supplies within the department, assisting with stocktaking, maintaining food records, and supporting the cleaning of stockrooms and kitchen areas. You will be working as part of an enthusiastic team. Shifts are based on a rota system with varied shift patterns that include evenings weekends, early mornings & evenings. 

Skills and qualifications required

You must have the ability to undertake cleaning to a high standard with good communication skills, a positive attitude to delivering good customer service and a flexible approach to work. You will have an understanding of any Health and Safety information and guidance, in order to carry out the safe use of chemicals and equipment, however this is not essential as training will be provided.

It is important that you are able to undertake physical aspects of the post, and have a flexible and positive approach to work, with a professional manner.
