POSITION:  The Department of Animal Science in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor in Ruminant Microbiology. Candidates for Assistant Professor will be tenure-track and candidates for Associate Professor will be considered for either tenure-track or tenured depending on qualifications with demonstrated potential to develop an exemplary teaching, research, and service portfolio. This is a 9-month, full-time appointment with research (60%), teaching (30%), and service (10%) responsibilities and an anticipated start date of August 15, 2027.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary focus of this position will be to support cutting-edge research and teaching to advance ruminant microbiology and educate future disciplinary leaders.  The successful candidate will enhance a multidisciplinary faculty in animal science.  Developing and leading an extramurally funded, internationally recognized research program in ruminant microbiology will be expected. An individual's emphasis area of research may align with the successful candidate's strengths. The successful candidate will contribute to the educational mission of the Department of Animal Science through teaching activities that enhance undergraduate and graduate curricula as well as engage disciplinary stakeholders at the state, national, and international levels.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in Animal Science or a related field emphasizing ruminant microbiology. A demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in research, successful grantsmanship, and contributing to the undergraduate and graduate programs through teaching and mentoring is required.
