The Faculty of Humanities invites applications for the following position of salary scale W3 NBesO starting 1 October 2028: University Professorship in School Research and Teacher Education
The Position
The professorship to be filled at the Institute of Education complements existing research areas of teaching and learning, school development and out-of-school education, by adopting a qualitative-reflexive approach to school research and teacher education.
- A leading position in the field of teacher education, with a focus on school and professional research
- Outstanding research in school research and teacher education adopting a qualitative-reflexive approach to the following areas: evidence-based practice (e.g. issues relating to knowledge transfer), digitalisation (e.g. issues relating to AI) and/or diversity (e.g. issues relating to migration)
- Shaping the research area’s profile through collaborative projects in the fields of evidence-based practice, digitalisation and/or diversity
- Involvement in securing external funding and/or collaborative projects
Your Profile
Leibniz University Hannover is seeking an individual with a proven track record of academic excellence, who can make a significant contribution to both research and teaching. The required profile is as follows:
- Doctorate in education or a closely related subject
- Publishing activities focusing on school research and teacher education in peer-reviewed journals
- Successes and experiences in securing competitive third-party funding and/or collaborative projects
- National and/or international research collaborations
- Use of qualitative methods with a reflexive approach to the research subject
- Ability to teach courses in English
- Compatibility of the research profile with the Institute of Education, the Centre for Empirical Educational Research, the FIT Research Alliance, the Digital Education Research Initiative and/or the Leibniz Centre for Science and Society
- Collaboration with the Leibniz School of Education
