| Job Summary | Concord University seeks a highly organized, dependable, and enthusiastic team member to serve as an Administrative Associate for the University’s federally funded TRIO Upward Bound programs. Concord administers two Upward Bound programs serving eligible high school students from Mercer, Greenbrier, and McDowell Counties and Mercer, Monroe, and Summers Counties, respectively. The programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Education and assist students who are from low-income families, are potential first-generation college students, or need academic support in preparing for postsecondary education. Upward Bound provides academic instruction, tutoring, advising, college and career exploration, financial aid and financial literacy information, and cultural enrichment to increase high school completion, college enrollment, and persistence toward degree attainment. This is a twelve-month, full-time position contingent upon continued federal funding. The primary purpose of the Administrative Associate position is to coordinate the administrative and logistical functions of Concord University’s two Upward Bound programs and support staff, participants, and program activities.
